The DCS-VIP

Samsung's DCS-VIP meets the voice and data needs of small offices. The DCS-VIP features an integrated 10/100Base-T LAN repeater as well as an IP router with ISDN-based WAN connectivity for internet access. The integrated K/P supports six local digital phone extensions and four local analog phone extensions, providing an intelligent and comprehensive call management system.

Voice Key Set and Call Management

The Internet K/P PBX provides voice call switching between two ISDN voice channels, six digital extensions, and four analog extensions, thereby providing a 2x10 key system. Call management features include distinctive ringing and intelligent internal/external call forwarding based on extension or caller ID.

The Internet K/P provides call services such as call waiting, call hold, and call transfer.

The Internet K/P router provides PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol) connection by using TCP/IP access to the Internet, supporting industry-standard Multi-link PPP (RFC 1990) and BOD (Bandwidth On Demand) to increase bandwidth up to 128Kbps.



Ease of Use

IP address assignments are performed transparently to the by using the built-in DHCP relay agent. For Dynamic IP Address handling, Network Address Translation (NAT) enables a work-group to access the Internet using a single-user ISP account. Configuration and Management is performed using the integrated Web-based server on Internet Keyphone.



Authentication and Filtering Rules

The Internet K/P's Authentication and Filtering Rules support the powerful security features in the network to allow PAP (Password Authentication Protocol) and CHAP (Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol) with Internet Service Provider. Access List also protects your network from any intruder and decrease of your system performance.
